Both #HighlandsEast and #AlgonquinHighlands have officially moved the fire rating to High, meaning daytime burning is strictly prohibited, and extreme caution must be taken with nighttime campfires.

Parents Sarah Crawford and Shannon McKinnon argue that lengthening instructional blocks to 100–120 minutes while cutting outdoor recess play time by up to 40 minutes could hurt student focus and mental well-being.
