I headed out to meet with a local organization leader to dive into ideas for economic growth, cultural tourism, and bringing fresh, positive energy to our region. Sitting down face-to-face, talking about ways to support local businesses, shoulder-season tourism, and community-led initiatives gets my heart pumping! There is so much potential right here in our backyard, and I'm deeply passionate about serving as a dependable, clear voice for local residents.
After our meeting, I hopped on the phone with a local non-profit team member who manages essential community transit and a social enterprise café. By early afternoon, it was time for some good old-fashioned physical work 🚜💪. I headed home, fired up the mower, and spent a solid hour cutting the lawn under the summer sky. There’s nothing quite like looking back at a freshly groomed yard to give you that quiet feeling of accomplishment.

I rushed out, picked him up, and spent the entire evening with him at the hospital emergency room. By 11:00 PM, the doctor had set and splinted a broken knuckle, and we finally headed home—tired, but relieved and thankful he is fine.
Looking back on a day like that reminds me why I do what I do ❤️. Life isn't about rigid schedules or perfect calendars; it's about showing up when it counts. It’s about protecting the people you care about, staying grounded in the work, and being a dependable anchor for your family, your neighbours, and your community.
